A dense cluster of mushrooms growing on a piece of dark, decaying wood and surrounded by leaf litter. The mushrooms have a color palette ranging from tan to pale yellowish-brown or ochre. Many of the caps exhibit a slight central darker area. A striking feature is the presence of fine, radial cracks on the surface of several caps.

Two unidentified fungi, one c3 times the size of the other, close together. Above them is a section of dead wood touched with moss and lichen. Only the caps of the fungi are visible. They are round and waxy white, very light tan at the top. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't eat them.

@chris108 My wife and I used to collect these by the sack load from Bolberry Down in South Devon, and dry them in the fan oven. The house would smell of mushrooms for weeks!

Some more #fungi plus a pretty picture of the Bovey.
View through green leaved trees of a river bend. The water is low, and either bank is strewn with dead leaves. Unidentified fungus hiding in the undergrowth. It is creamy white, darkening to a brown centre. Gills can be seen below a broken edge. A group of honey fungi (?) in a line receding from the camera, growing through an area of moss. More honey fungi (?) seen from above, growing from the side of a fallen log. Mod grows on the log above the fungi, and dead oak leaves litter the ground below.

I managed to get my sorry backside out of the house and take the dogs on a proper walk today. I was rewarded by meeting my daughter and her dog half way round, and having a good old natter.
I managed to photograph some fungi along the way as well.

Unidentified fungus, lying on its side on a mossy log. The top is not visible, and the white underside consists of prominent gills. Hen-of-the-woods? Close photo of a small group of light brown bracket fungi. Unidentified white fungus growing out of an area of moss. The cap is waxy white and folds over around the edge. The stem is a pale yellow/brown colour. According to Google Lens, not a fungus, but Lichen Marins. It comprises four bracket like structures growing from a single base from an area of moss. The brackets are blue/green, fading to dirty white along the edges.
