i dont think it’s nothing that even small things, like rebooting Rush Hour, is an attempt to capture an idealized past (buddy comedies/sex crimes without career destroying blowback) and vaporwave nostalgia reels from the DHS to recapture youth, hope, editing out disturbances and glimpses then of now
I was just thinking about this and realized something I'm sure smarter people figured out. Conservativism of 30 years ago harkened back to 30 years before that, and on and on. But today's conservative, are they going to tell you about the Beautiful American 90s?
What’s wild about conservatism in 2025 is how little any of it makes sense outside of a desire to have white guys with all the power, like what’s the other thing you could even possibly like about it? A gossipy old man getting presents?

I think we’re approaching the point of no return if a critical mass of white people don’t start freaking the fuck out in public. I know that the wildcat internment camps where they’re torturing and raping immigrants should have done it but now we’re legally non-personing entire categories of people.
