Sometimes I have thoughts I want to note down that are possibly melancholy or heavier than my usual happy cat business on my main feed.
If you want to read my more personal thoughts on matters, here's the place to read 'em ^^

I guess that's kind of the basis for cosmic horror.
The worrisome thought that our existence will always to some degree necessitate destruction or control of things that have less control over their fate than we do, and what that means for encountering entities that have more control than us.

This isn't really a new thought, but it's a terrifying one. If you think about how humans treat other lifeforms like ants. An anthill forms in your garden, you find ants in your home. You might have the anthill sterilised.
Finding out that Earth is the metaphorical anthill in something elses garden-

For example- your waiter is not paying attention to the restaurant floor. You clearly see your food waiting on the ready table and it's been there several minutes. You walk up, retrieve it and take it back to your table and eat your meal.

In some cases you do have to consider that realistically there may be consquences to acting or behaving in a certain away around certain people. But otherwise it is a good habit to break out of social norms and act according to your desires and ethics.

5: Are you making a realistic evaluation of potential reactions from other people? In a lot of cases with small breaches of the norm, most adults are too preoccupied with their own lives to notice or care.

4: What are your personal ethics telling you about what you intend to do? Does it actually break any of your rules of ethics or does it just break 'societal norms'?

3: Are you likely to see this person again? You may never encounter this person again and ergo there is essentially no consequence. Many things simply get forgotten.

2: Do you want to have a specific kind of interpersonal relationship with this person? Do you want their friendship? Do you value their opinion? If they're not someone who you'd take advice from, discard their opinion on what you're doing.

There's a few things to think to yourself when choosing to do something that you expect people to react to:

1: Does this person have any power over your situation? Thinking realistically, could they hurt you or damage part of your life in some way?

It's a skill you have to develop.
It's also not so much about 'not caring what other people think' rather than getting better at judging and responding to what the actual consequences of other people's reactions are, rather than just relying on the inbuilt emotion of 'social shame'

I wanted to expand on the concept of 'don't care what other people think' as a piece of advice. On it's own, it's too simplistic and isn't good advice.
In a weird sort of way, watching shows like Doctor Who and Rick and Morty actually helped me tamper a better philosophy on this-

...I realise that in my belief system, existence is entirely physical. So yes, the body *is* the person. It was the vessel through which we were observed, understood, loved. It was also the means by which we experienced life.
So perhaps that does indeed deserve some reverence.

I was thinking about the reverence of the body after we die- the business of burials, cremations, tombs and the like.
Previously I thought this kind of thing was wasted effort, a person is gone when they die, yes? And a body is only so much matter left behind. But... (1/?)
