That's a myth - they work fine in old buildings. In fact old stone although slow to heat up then acts as a heat store. But there's heat pumps in loads of Victorian homes these days.

It's fitted thousands of heat pumps/solar - that's all it does now both for rural (off mains gas) properties & low income. Not all are good quality but many are & it is more equitable than BUS alone.
