I see performative Christianity everywhere I go. The "Gospel Signs Made Here" guy is not the one feeding the homeless in the park on Sundays. He's the one telling everyone else to do things his way or go to hell.

Farmers should plant foods Americans want to eat. After all those Farm Aid concerts, they should be looking out for us for a change.

The FlyingNun was so ridiculous and so iconic. I am impressed she was able to escape being permanently typecast like Gilligan.

That's great!

I hate to say it, but things will have to get very much worse before some of our fellow Americans will come to their senses.

If mass starvation is not enough to bring them around, what will it take? Nuclear winter?

Oh sure Republicans have about 10,000 pedophiles in their ranks but Dems had Anthony Wiener and Al Franken so both sides are the same.

Longview WA is a good example of that second point. We have seen only about a dozen ships all year at our big fancy log port and now those huge piles of logs are spoiling in the weather. Eventually we are going to have to admit this is a problem.

Longview WA is a busy international shipping port. We export grain, soy beans, and wood products, mostly to Asia.

Today, there were no ships parked at the log dock or the grain elevator.

Longview is doomed. It's a zombie town that doesn't know it is already dead.

That looks delicious!

Excessive rumination is apparently a genetic trait but I just can't imagine what evolutionary benefit it bestows.

Both Schumer and Pelosi are seasoned professionals. Of course it is time for new people but that is a lot of institutional knowledge to catch up on. Finding good replacements will be hard. Newcomers have a disadvantage.

Perhaps it is OUR job to convince his colleagues.
November 7, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Well why don't you come over for lunch some time.

Renouncing citizenship after reciting the pledge of allegiance about 10,000 times makes you a traitor, though. Why would any other country think these people are an asset? They are more like self-serving opportunists.

What a great idea!
November 6, 2025 at 1:21 AM
Good riddance. If you are not willing to stick around and be part of the solution then you are part of the problem and we are better off without you.
November 6, 2025 at 1:19 AM
Well that'll show him.
November 6, 2025 at 1:07 AM
How shameful. They are all traitors.

Daily News is such a disappointment.

Here in Longview WA, in the deeply redneck and ignorant county of Cowlitz, the dems took over the city council and the mayor lost his seat.

Is anyone else reminded of the rise of Obama?

I just spent 20 minutes reprogramming my thermostat. I wrote DOS programs that were more user friendly than that.

One of mine is being underwater in a car whose windows don't open.

Cars should come with an alternative window opening scheme for emergency situations. A hand crank is an reliable and satisfying way to open a window. I'd be willing to pay extra for that.

Obligated. Huh. I wonder how that would go over if I told her that.

Sorry I completely agree with you but we are battling imperfect humans and incomplete databases. If you don't fight for your life you will be victimized by the system. It isn't fair and it is very frustrating.
