New in PN: Judge rules that anti-woke is just racism

“'I’ve never seen a record where racial discrimination was so palpable,' Judge Young fumed. 'I’ve sat on this bench now for 40 years. I’ve never seen government racial discrimination like this.'

*More of this, please*"

This picture may haunt me to the end of my days.

It is an ICE agent taking an axe to the car window of an immigrant in New Bedford, MA. Not far from where I sit now. An immigrant with no criminal record was abducted by this smiling man.

An axe taken to a car window and to our democracy. 1/

Sometimes it feels like the other side is winning—has always been winning—and will always win. It can leave you feeling isolated, tired, even hopeless. But remember: every freedom we have was won by people who felt the same way, and still fought anyway.

Some personal news: the Department of Homeland Security has given me, an immigration lawyer born in Newton, Massachusetts, seven days to leave the U.S. Does anyone know if you can get Italian citizenship through great-grandparents?

Alienate our allies
Crash the market
Devalue the dollar
Spike prices
Dismantle the federal government
Cause immigrants to live in fear
Make others not want to come here

If you made a blueprint for how to hurt 🇺🇸, it would look a lot like this

Wait a minute. I just caught this.

The gov paperwork says "you will remain detained under Title 40, US Code Section 21."

Um, dude, those are laws about public buildings.

Did they mean CFR 40.21?

Thank God we will now be free of the tyranny of less onerous bank fees.
The Senate voted Thursday to strike down a rule capping most bank overdraft fees at $5, a measure adopted late last year by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that had been expected to save Americans billions of dollars per year.

Two observations:
1. Republicans want to bring back a zombie version of the Fugitive Slave Act to target women seeking abortions and trans people
2. By abducting Tufts grad student Rumeysa Ozturk from the quiet streets of Somerville, the Trump admin may have just had their Anthony Burns moment

Thoughts on boycotts: inflict pain on the corporation. Buying a couple 99 cent ebooks from a self-published author on Amazon is fine. Don’t buy a microwave on it. Purity is never the answer. Restraint though and thoughtfulness is.
