I hope you got a better view than I did with 15x70 binoculars. (tbh, I was surprised that I could even spot it.)

Gambian flag, Greek name 😔

This one is quite clear from its orbit that is a Solar System object, and Avi L. doesn't care about it (no aliens, no grifting). But it is a reminder that a comet breaking-up is not unusual (in case 3I breaks up too).

No this one was born in the solar system. It returns every 7.5 years.

Not really. This one was born in the solar system. It returns every 7.5 years.

Or maybe a poorly recorded Kreutz sungrazer (not the 1668 one).

I had a look through cometography. I think it is one uncovered about 200 years after discovery, but I don't see it having an orbit as it was only observed by a single person. 😕

Kronk and Meyer have indetified the comet seen in August 1032 as the 1744 comet.

24p must be mag 13, if not fainter.
November 22, 2025 at 6:06 AM
Is 24P among them? Or it is still too dim?

The distance between 3I and Earth will be getting smaller up to mid December, but it will never be even astronomically close to Earth (closest approach is at a distance of 270 million km, almost twice the distance from the Sun). After that it gets lost in space.

It is a tail pointing towards the Sun, at the opposite side of the other tails. It is visible when the Earth, the Sun and the comet are roughly aligned and it is dust too heavy for the solar wind to move quickly.

Congratulations for viewing an interstellar object with your eyes!

With a different interpretation of the word arrive and how close this is.

Is the Origin worth the price? At the same price you can get a rasa 8, a 585 cooled and a nice eq mount like heq5.

IMO, highlights of the month are the T CrB exploding at last (25/11 most likely) and 3I clearing Sun's glare and becoming visible again for Earth based observers.

Is it permanently active? A bit like 29P?

More like no USA/West, no News.

Have you seen C/2025 K1 (ATLAS)? It has emerged quite spectacular from its perihelion.
