Twofer. G'mork was my first exposure to Neverending Story, at about 5yo.

Then later there was the Jabberwocky, from Alice Through the Looking Glass (1985). That it could pop out of anywhere was truly terrifying
G'mork, the scary, green-eyed, fanged wolf monster from Neverending Story. The Jabberwocky, a big leathery dragon with glowing red eyes. The Jabberwocky again. It's clearly a big dumb rubber suit but to a kid this was horror incarnate.

A silly scribbled comic, based on a "best monster" voting tournament I recently hosted. Final round came down to a Xenomorph from Alien, and the Killer Bunny from Monty Python And The Holy Grail.

Went to start a new Gallifreyan drawing, then proceded to spend the better part of an hour making an itty bitty tiny pixel art #StargateSG1 insignia. Actually pretty proud of this!

The sentence circle--the large, purple, outer pair of rings--is a pre-saved template I use in all of these pieces.
While I keep the words different colours here, I use yet another colour for the lines, to make it easier to erase and redraw them if I need to adjust them.

The full MSPaint workspace I use. Along the top is Step 1: all the individual letters of the phrase to be drawn. At the right is Step 2: the schematic arrangement of the word circles. Dominating the middle is the image from the previous post. The left side contains the written transcription of the phrase along with some template circles and circle segments I use in the planning process.

Then comes the labour-intensive part, drawing and arranging the word circles in the larger sentence circle. This involes a lot of trial and error for proper sizing, placement, and artistic direction. Different colours are again used to clearly differentiate the words.

Things like proportions, orientation, and the placement of the line and dot decorations are all subject to change.

I use this step primarily as a schematic or checklist of what elements I need to draw and their relative order to eachother.

Each of the words in the original phrase are now drawn as word circles, arranged in a larger sentence circle. Their design is rough and basic, meant to show shapes and positions but not the final artistic details. The same image, but here the english translations are shown next to each word. Additionally, the word circles are all different colours now (which is not something I typically do at this stage, but for clarity these colours match the ones used in the image of post 5/7 later in this thread).

Everything from start to finish is drawn in MSPaint. No fancy layers or tools, just drawing circles and editing pixels while zoomed in.

My typical process for doing these Gallifreyan pieces.

First I start out by just transcribing the phrase, letter by letter. For longer phrases like this, I try to break up the words with alternating colours so I don't get confused.
