It seems to me that they are both ignorant of the context and depth of the issue as well as fearful to mention it out of “respect” or “inclusivity” or something… honestly I think it’s one of the most dangerous aspects of our moment as I think it’s impossible to understand what’s happening w/o it.

It’s a clear instance of reluctance/ refusal of media, leaders, etc. to criticize Christianity or even to mention it with a whiff of critical thinking. Since the CK memorial I’ve been fascinated by the Iack of discussion by moderates and liberals about the dangers of MAGA-Christian-Nationalism.

@andrewlseidel.bsky.social on your last episode you mentioned the report you helped author on the Christian nationalist influences at the J6 insurrection and that Liz Chaney refused to allow any mention of Christianity on the record. Can you elaborate on that story?
