It really can't be said enough: the goal of the "anti-woke" movement was always to destroy social norms against bigotry. And it worked. And there's a whole lot of purportedly "left" thinkers & commentators who helped it -- indeed, it couldn't have been done without them.

i do think it ought to be common curtesy if you're writing RPF to at least make up random names for the central character's friends and family unless they're also well-known. like i am not going to research dan and phil's parents names i will just google "UK (gender) name 1950s" and that's it

what you can do: bring disability justice to the schools and the care facilities where we hide these people away from society, bereft of basic human rights and vulnerable to abuse. be that volunteer or teacher or nurse or friend who actually respects them. donate to their fundraisers. let them make

people whose illnesses are so severe that dickhead atheists like Richard Dawkins use them as rhetorical proofs that there is no benevolent god.
this class of disabled people do not need your justifications for why it is okay to make fun of bigots with whom they share some of those attributes!

invisible illnesses has gone wrong. in the past ~15 years we have refocused some crip power to put some well-deserved attention on people who live in this inbetween-land of being disabled but not legible as such unless they disclose it to others. invisible disability is a real struggle that deserves
