Film photographer in Birmingham, Alabama. I am somehow still an Auburn fan and I like it when it rains on F1 races.
Wheeler Wildlife Refuge, today. Sell all my cameras, buy 600mm lenses and just shoot birds. Don't tempt me, I'll do it. Ft. @brightsides.bsky.social

Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark, Birmingham, Alabama. This place is a cheat code, and I try not to go all the time but when I'm feeling uninspired I know I can burn a roll of film there pretty quickly. Ultra Finesse Extreme 100, in the G690.

Greetings for scenic Jasper, Alabama. I Also shot the Fuji X100F I borrowed today and goddamnit it's so good. I need to hate this camera. It would be financially beneficial to me to hate this.

Me: I am now a 6x9 format snob. Also me: I finally got a lens for my 645 and maybe I should shoot it more. Kentmere 400 pushed 1 stop (as it shall always be done) in the Bronica ETRS with a new-to-me 75mm lens. This was my first medium format camera. It's...pretty damn good.

ok this is later in the roll and seems decent at infinity. Or better, at least. Tomorrow we go to infinity and beyond tho. Im so mad at this roll, though. The only previous Portra 160VC I shot was nonstop bangers. This, this is not nonstop bangers.
November 25, 2025 at 1:29 AM
Hm. this one isn't sharp at infinity either. Am I a bad photographer or has the Fuji G690 betrayed me in record time? I will have to shoot a test roll.

When I took this, I thought it was gonna be one of the best pictures. Multi layers of fall color down a slope with trees in the foreground breaking it up. It looked so good in person. And then, an expired roll of Portra 160VC decided to just straight up stab me in the heart. Goddamn film.

It's just a closed Mexican restaurant in Irondale, but it looks like a church in Madrid or somewhere.

July, 2024. It's an indoor softball training facility, I think? Much like you I bet, I almost wrecked the car pulling over to take some photos.

A few from this month's Birmingham Film Walk. A buddy let me borrow a Nikon S3 and shoot a roll through it. I liked it! Not enough to justify getting one, though.

Borrowing a friends X100F and goddamn it’s so pretty.

I drove around for a while at lunch today, I didn't take a single photo. I think I am burned out. These are good, though. Birmingham, early yesterday morning.

Will a non-Leica rangefinder make me happy, part 8 (at least). A return to the canon 7 because I got a great deal.

What perfect album came out the year you turned 16?
November 17, 2025 at 3:19 AM
I was so excited for the little Olympus PEN-D half frame camera I got super cheap and it literally died after shooting one roll. They were pretty good, too!

We had a horrific fire destroy a bunch of historic buildings and...c'mon man. I couldn't resist taking some pictures. I'm the worst.
November 15, 2025 at 2:10 PM
Maytown just left their fire truck outside and what was I supposed to do, NOT take pictures of it? Kentmere 200 in the Olympus XA, which is a hella good camera that fits in my pocket.

Scenes from West Jefferson County, Alabama. Kodak Gold 200 in the Fuji G690. I love this stupid camera but only getting 8 shots a roll.... I will never financially recover from this.
November 14, 2025 at 2:33 AM
East Birmingham, Alabama. I love these buildings so much. If they ever paint them I'm going to be so mad.

Gadsden, Alabama. What a wonderful abandoned storefront. The dudes at the auto repair shop looked at me crazy for taking a few photos of it, but I'm pretty used to that reaction by now.

Film at Little River Canyon. Portra 800 and Gold 200, shot in the Fuji G690. Yeah, these rule. I love the colors, I love everything about them.

Little River Canyon, Alabama. Today we went and looked at some pretty trees. It was a very good day.
