Our primary strength is our democratic rights and freedom of speech. This is the one thing that Europe has that China does not. The political elite across Europe are trying to erode this away in an attempt to placate the financial sector. This is not how we do it.

We need to take back control of our democracy from the financial sector. Just look at how the entire UK budget discourse has been focused on what the bond markets think. We can't improve our schools, improve childcare, or infrastructure because of the bond trading boogeyman.

Yes and the US is building and exporting record levels of LNG which are equally damaging. The difference is that China is also transitioning away from coal and gas, and exporting cheap clean energy globally, while the US is raising the cost to transition.
