Oh wait I just did this, you don’t have to choose! Install the gnome version then with one command line you can pick either one when you log in! Just type this and reboot:
dnf install @kde-desktop-environment

I genuinely love that when I can’t get something to work in Linux it’s because I don’t understand it, but if I work at it I will. I hate windows because it’s a crapshoot if something doesn’t work because of a dark design pattern, badly inserted AI, forgotten legacy code, or bad testing.

The drives, from my experience, are generally well supported now. Sound cards and webcams are spotty as hell, but dvd drives are fine. Makemkv + handbrake should get your ripping done for dvds and vlc player is your always-reliable way to test it. Good luck!

Two of my subscription services (xbox live and disney/hulu) just doubled their prices for me. Can I afford it? I guess. But I canceled them because I feel so disrespected as a customer.

I went to read it after you mentioned it a few days ago but I got distracted and started reading Pattern Recognition instead.
The upside is I’m still looking forward to reading The Peripheral, and Pattern Recognition is really good too.

5) Also know there are loads of randos who just like answering Linux questions
6) You can customize Linux like crazy. Make it look just like Windows or Mac if you want.
