shoutout to The Grinch: Christmas Adventures for being the first game my 3-year-old daughter learned how to play completely unaided.

"this" here being this scientific chart, which did not originally attach for reasons likely related to the eldritch entity formerly known as Comcast.

... while O'Brian's depictions of the relationships between Aubrey, Maturin, Sophia, and Diana feel more influenced by writers like Hemingway and Fitzgerald. There are direct lines that can be drawn between this book, Great Gatsby, and The Sun Also Rises, which in an academic form would look like:

We're back, with possibly the four most random #365games picks yet - will be catching up for a while, bear with please! #181 Indiana Jones 2024 - Loved it, highly recommend. #180 Pokémon TCG Pocket - Loved it for a bit, over it now, do not recommend. #179 The Arys Expedition - Buy it. #178 Zelda.

When disaster strikes, it's important to be prepared. That's why I always keep a gogh bag on hand.

This is not to discount all of the ship management games I played before and during this time, including things like 1869 (amazing pixel art), High Seas Trader, Ocean Trader, and Uncharted Waters. These are #185, #184, #183, and #182 of #365games (still catching up, bear with me)
August 3, 2025 at 2:12 PM
#189, #188, #187, and #186 of #365games
There was a period in the late 1990s through the mid 2000s that I could not get enough of top-down managerial/building games. Zoo Tycoon, Moon Tycoon, Hoyle Casino Empire, Sim City 2000, hours and hours and hours sunk into all of them.

I liked HeXen better, but I wouldn't have HeXen without Heretic, so it deserves its place on the #365games list as number #191. My brain immediately also thinks of Blood 2: The Chosen for some reason, so that's #190. There must have been a magazine at one point that had ads for both on the same page

Been thinking about the Fatal Frame series a lot. Maiden of Black Water, Crimson Butterfly, whatever the third one was called. All interesting games and all worthy of the #365games list as numbers #195, #194, #193 and #192

Gonna knock out some of these real fast, bear with me. #365games took a bit of a backseat for a few weeks.
#197 It Takes Two has been a blast to replay with the whole family involved.
#196 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 has more goals than I could have imagined and I'm still hooked on Solo Tours

If you see this, quote with a robot that isn’t from Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, or Transformers.

Played PUBG like 2 hours tonight. Still fun, still infuriating. I like the sandstorms. Don't like how much loot there is now. Scavenging aspect is gone. Lots of QoL improvements. I have 400+ hours in this game, all pre-2018. Wild coming back now. Weapon attachments attach instantly. But wtf is this?

For about thirty minutes every day for the past week I've been working on recreating The Simpsons house in The Sims 1. No idea why. It soothes me.

#199 and #198 of #365games
Did you know you can play Skee-Ball and Air Hockey on Nintendo Switch? Not that you should, mind. Chuck-E-Cheese still exists. But the option is there, and that's good? I guess??
