That’s what Labour’s big idea was.
The Tories are crap because they’re Tories.
We are Labour! We won’t be crap because we’re Labour.
We’ll do pretty much what the Tories did except we’re Labour and it’ll be good!

We need to tax wealth, not people with high income.

Minimum wage goes up 50p per hour.
HMRC takes 15p tax and the extra Ni contributions from employer. I think about 50p extra per hour.
Please correct me on this if I’m wrong.
This looks like a benefit but it’s actually a stealth tax.

My aging Mac that I can’t afford to replace is running Ubuntu Linux,
I’m being made redundant in a few weeks and the work Windows laptop will be gone!

Yay! Gates begone!

Now? Would love a customs union and freedom of movement.
Is this the time? Do we think we can win now?

Speaking of Russian stooges, I haven’t come across Debbie Hayton recently.

I was confusing it with Gdansk.

Gstaad?

People have shit lives. It’s easy to believe all these immigrants are the reason, but it’s the wrong reason.

We need a new narrative.

Wealth tax now!

Read Enemy Feminisms by Sophie Lewis. It’s amazing how many feminists start off meaning well but end up on the right of the political spectrum.

I’m wondering if YP will turn into a “workerist”, socially Conservative Party and the greens will be the socially liberal, LGBTQ+, eco progressives.

We need both. We need PR

We need to move the Overton Window leftward again.

That’s it.

Let’s see what happens. I predicted Labour would behave like Reform-lite if they won the 2024 election and got the same angry response.
November 12, 2025 at 11:50 AM
Been there, done that, got betrayed.

I predicted before the 2024 GE that Labour would behave like reform-lite if they won but nobody believed me. Everyone said Labour was a left wing party and couldn’t possibly turn to the far right, but they did.

Let’s wait and see what happens?

I think the greens left turn is good. I like what ZP is saying.
The libdems - another PB liberal party - lurched left under Charles Kennedy then right under Nick Clegg when they got a chance to be in government

It’s not cynicism. From a Marxist pov, the greens are a radical petit-bourgeois liberal party. Such parties adopt left/right policies depending on which way the political winds are blowing.
November 12, 2025 at 10:38 AM
They’re doing an opportunistic left turn.
In 2019, they joined the Tories in calling Corbyn antisemitic.
I like what Zack Polanski is saying now, but I don’t trust the greens to stay on the left.

Every PM has been worse than the last.

Since John Major who wasn’t as bad as Thatcher.
November 11, 2025 at 10:50 PM
Same, but we need something to replace it.
