I've been reading Mao Zedong Thought by Wang Fanxi, and Chapter 8, Literature and Art, is the strongest argument for Trotskyism I've seen yet. They *get* art. Here's one particular passage.

So I fell into the Goncharov rabbit hole again, and while researching whether anybody predicted the fall of the Soviet Union enough for that to be the plot point of a movie in 1973, I stumbled across this.
