I watched GdT's Frankenstein this weekend! Gorgeous visuals and an interesting take on Frankenstein. It's a sign of a great book that everything GdT emphasized (recklessness of new tech, monster as Jesus/humanity) was in the text...but still not the whole story. Wasn't my fave but I appreciated it.

I just finished Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay and it's a fantastic read if you like high fantasy. It's dense in the best possible way: characters who are confused by their own reactions, nuanced takes on love and trauma and tyranny. Dianora has my whole heart and I can't stop thinking about her Dive.

I used SNAP for a year. It's just a card that you swipe at checkout, accepted by most grocery stores and/or anywhere with an EBT sign. I used it for groceries, at the farmer's market, and to get bodega bagels.

Good read about the surge of lady knights/golems in lit. These roles inherently imbue women with power, but I think the underlying (modern) theme is a woman's right to choose. K/g's are known for unquestioning loyalty but these ladies DECIDE who gets their allegiance.
