I can’t help but wonder how much of this nonsense we’d be rid of if we eliminated the capital gains tax and treated it all as regular income?

I had no idea, although I cannot be surprised. I went through film school and in the process discovered that I did not, in fact, have any desire to work with actors.

Apparently I saw Julia Davis in Phantom Thread but didn’t know better. Of course, I first mis-read the post and wondered, what the hell happened to Judy Davis? I love Judy Davis. Haven’t seen her in a while.

You’re also more likely in small towns to innocently blunder into tribal weirdness you have no connection to other than by association with whomever you just had casual contact with. Or worse, be identified as fresh meat.

The stereotype I am familiar with is that small town Americans act friendly but aren’t actually nice, and city folk are brusk and rude but generally nicer. YMMV.
