My digital game is serious | I make music as alt+f4: bsky.app/profile/alt-eff-four.bsky.social | he/him |
How can he be so sad when he is surrounded by holly jolly accessories???

You are absolutely fucking up not watching Grim videos. He does reviews on old games with a 90s goth touch. Plus, he's a hell of a musician! My favorite bit is when he uses old footage from E3 or something, without fail the cameraman will creep on booth babes, much to Grim's obvious disappointment.

I get reminded every so often that I'm on lists made by the most insecure people on the internet, and it never fails that our feeds look exactly the same when I check them out on an alt. It's so funny that like we could be cool but you're a loser ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Real ones are still scarred by the dismemberment in Call of Duty World at War. Trench gun to the legs was a one way ticket to a horror show. Some of the most effective use of gore in an FPS I've played in a while. Really disturbing stuff in such a huge game.

Yeah I'm a big fan of Sniper Elite as well, and it does too good of a job making simulated ballistic physics feel so satisfying. Lining up that shot and pulling the trigger to see the x-ray is pure dopamine for my nerd brain. But stepping back from that, it's fucking brutal what you do in that game.

Other than that, it's a cool little indie game that reminds me of all the cool little indie games I used to find in like 2013. It makes me think of Actual Sunlight, Kentucky Route Zero, and even something like Gone Home in terms of how it feels. Just people making something they think is cool.

The art style made it hard to make out things in the distance during daytime scenes. Character models and the background would blend together so I had to strain my eyes a lot. A few big moments were ruined by the lack of clarity in visuals. Things need harder edges for definition.

Finished it after 3 and a half hours. Really cool game that has a LOT to say about fascism. Not surprising when you consider the obvious influences driving the story forward. I'll probably replay to check the other speech options, but I think I got what I needed out of it.

Very glad this game got the notoriety as I probably wouldn't have played this otherwise. Worth a shot if you like artsy fartsy film. Not surprised a game by Italians is talking about the evils of Italian fascism the way it does! Pretty par for the course in terms of what's been done before!

There's something to be said about the push for indie devs to go viral to shift units, and I believe either 404 or Aftermath did a piece on that recently. I don't want to be cynical, but I'm sure there's part of that here, too. It's a smart idea to push copies, but leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I really enjoyed my playthrough of the game. A lot of moments had me feeling like I was in a Pasloini flick, but it was rendered in Unity with assets from an early version of the movie Barnyard. It's absurd and gross and weird. There's a lot of shots being taken, and it all kinda works. Cool game.

I remember reading a report about NetherRealm employees getting PTSD from watching gore so the finishers were more realistic. I'm a big MK fan, but it's hard to play it knowing psychic damage was done to a few dozen animators in the process.

Was just bumping them and it's the only ska band my wife hasn't ordered me to turn off immediately 😎👍
