Yup. He not only stole her work, but then regularly put her down later. And made many comments about how women should be hot and be secretaries bc he didn’t have time to go out of the lab or for ugly people but also bc women were stupid, etc.

In case you need a list of some of his greatest hits regarding Franklin, fat people, people living with autism or schizophrenia (incl. his son!), black people, Jewish people, the political left, and so many more. Dude was AWFUL—even Crick thought so!

I’m an app kinda gal (rust belt!) but a very dear friend (wash state) says ape and it makes me laugh every time; it sounds rare and exotic, for some reason, when she says it.

So many good options, but right now I’m seriously into the Hugh Fraser narrated Christie novels. Such fun!

The BBC Big Read a few years back did Moby Dick and what a treat for the ears! having different narrators for each chapter really brings out the lyrical qualities of Melville’s prose in ways that mere reading off the page, in silence, by one’s self, cannot accomplish.

It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve read this book: Franklin sucks me in every single damn time.
