A junior colleague coded our algorithm and declared success. I tested with Excel on a sample and asked for replication; results didn’t match. I refused to move forward until replication was possible. A year later called excitedly, he found the culprit: an indexing error hidden in the code.

Libraries are amazing, free for the public, but paying authors!! And the more checkouts the better their impact statements!
