Had a weird dream last night where I was at EVO and Tony Hawk was a guest of honor for some reason. I somehow found out the organizers were conspiring to get him to piss himself on stage so I went up to him to warn him, but he just reacted with defeated resignation, and just kinda let it happen.

Rewatching The Wailing (2016). One thing I didn't remember from my first watch is how funny the movie is. Like funny in a pretty mundane way. It makes the characters and the setting feel more alive, which makes the horror elements that much more effective.

I got so stoned at a Mets game once I compared the Jumbotron to the top screen of a Nintendo DS bc it had “a bunch of useful contextual information” and the field to the bottom screen bc “it’s where the game is actually played”

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

This show actually inspired me to rework a game idea I've been brainstorming. It's a 1v1 mecha dueling game with trick taking mechanics, but it'll now focus on the relationship between robot and pilot, and when a robot and its pilot love each other very much, the robot can get pregnant and lay eggs.

Finished watching Brain Powerd the other day. Love how the robots have like new agey-sounding powers (like Chakra blasts and Organic Waves). Also love how the robots are sentient organisms, and the pilots have to spend time managing their robot's feelings.

Happens so much in gaming now. Yes, video games have always adopted new tech, and AI like machine learning has been a part of that. Hell, Rogue used generative algorithms in the 80s.
But the use of GenAI in gaming is new, and quite different. Although companies using it love to say it isn't.

Conflating machine learning tools with GenAI and LLMs are such a favorite of these bad faith arguments, too. Like, machines studying X-rays to better understand cancer is not the same thing as Open AI swallowing all my books via piracy to regurgitate sentences that sound similar. It's just not.
