Yeah, season 1 is easily the weakest part of the series. It just makes it come off as generic power fantasy.

Overlord is legitimately really good. It's weirdly funny for how... how it is.

Also really enjoy how the main character is just an absolute idiot, a bumbling buffoon. He never truly knows what's going on or who to believe about anything, and the film really ties that into the ~ambiguity~ of everything.

I do think it's interesting that like, on top of everything going on in the text, there's this tension around whether or not the film will play into xenophobic stereotypes. Anti-Japanese sentiment is still strong in Korean society, and the film does a good job of keeping you guessing until the end.

I'm actually down. I started watching it recently and I've gone through all the episodes that are currently out 4 times over.

Love their public transit and walkable city

Though I kinda wish they did more with that since the show doesn't fully commit to to establishing them as real characters. They don't even get real names.
