This slide and section of the book is based on an exchange Castillo and I had on Twitter. I am one of the "advocates" who called her in bc of how her Brookings article dismissed Afro-Latinos' concerns re antiblack erasure. I have also published extensively on the topic. Guess who was not cited?

Just found the slide where Castillo and Strunk use my motto to summarize someone else's QuantCrit Framework. Guess who is no where to be found in their presentation?

I always knew my mother was born in Haiti but found out in my late 30s that both of her parents were also born and raised in Haiti (they fled to DR during Papa Docs reign). Took me a hot second to realize my "Dominican" family and upbringing was Haitian AF. Photo of me and my grandma.

Monday, TPPF Senior Fellow Sherry Sylvester called out #NumberingRace in her invited testimony to the #TXLege #HigherEd Subcommittee. She was so excited to find a quant reasoning course with #race in the title that she didn't even bother to read the course description.
