I'm not sure how I feel about Qualcomm's purchase of Arduino - I just don't see what they have in common.

Since I've moved on to other microcontrollers, it doesn't really affect me though.

But maybe Qualcomm is planning a line of microcontollers ? More competition is probably a good thing.

I'll have to think about attending this.
Hopefully it will be interesting.

I've been having this same thought a lot lately.

During the dot-com bubble, dot-com companies felt more and more under pressure to actually commit the invested money to specific purposes, and many of those purposes were building out infrastructure.
The stock market from 1999 to 2002 was interesting. Even Amazon, a victor, lost 90% in this period.

And finally, some of these items are small enough to exist on the same chip as some of the others. One design could fail (and be a source of learning), if the other design works.

4. Miscellaneous:
- ADC for analog controller digitization
- MIDI / FM Synth generators

3. While I would be afraid of mixed-mode design initially:
- video drivers including PPU stable replacements
- a lookup-table driven RGB driver for PC Engine/TurboGrafx (since original RGB doesn't currently have the same analog output as the modulated signal).

2. Specialty chips which were based on mask-programmable PALs of the 80s and early 90s.
Includes:
- multi-taps
- RAM/ROM address decoders
- special-function chips from cartridges

1. Anything related to 80s/90s controllers (except USB):
Include:
- Protocol converters, specialty signalling (such as XE-1AP or other unique controllers).
- Special-function devices (like save units) which use the controller signals for communications.

I really want
@mith.ro 's wafer.space silicon manufacturing shuttles to succeed and continue to be available, so I was trying to brainstorm some retro-computer/console chips which may be viable.
Most can be done on FPGA today, but custom silicon could make assembly cheaper (reducing FPGA support).
wafer.space - Budget silicon manufacturing.
Create integrated circuits without breaking the bank!

My iPad Pro 10.5" from 2017 has been a bit sluggish lately, so I thought I'd look at replacing it with a current-generation basic iPad.
Apple stuff never goes on sale in Canada... but what ? Amazon and Best Buy both have the same >10% off sale.
I wonder what's driving this.

Well, I guess that aged well.

先日この動画を見て、とても印象に残りました。日本人は日本社会が均質的だと世界に伝えています、この動画はそれとは違うことを示しています。
日本にいても安全だと感じることは変わりませんが、人々は実際何を考えているのか気になります。

I somehow feel that it's pretty rare in Japan to have this kind of "deadpan delivery" of comedy, so I wonder how many people would try to take it seriously (as a silly idea), and how many would immediately realize it was a joke from the start.

Google Japan's tradition of making videos about new keyboard creations continues. Although most of them in the past have been released on April 1st, for reasons which will become clear...

I wonder if any company would have ever bought Excel if there was a 57% chance that the worksheet totals were correct.

I thought nothing these days was sold like that - without at least a 10GB day-zero mandatory download to update before it can be played.
This is why I only play old games.

The PC Engine's true colour palette isn't linear RGB; the palette goes through a transformation when it gets modulated. And while its composite output is good, S-Video is better. Here's a video that shows off @zaxour 's TurboNanza modification:
