Oh, and they often carry birch twigs and a sack for naughty children, who don't leave a food offering. See this book:

Where *does* he consider home? Kings Bruton in Somerset, where boys "cannot drift or hide..."?
Sounds lovely for Mountain Minimus. Details are obscure before that.
Anyway, one less baronet in the colony, eh.

("Pygmy Minimus" is a John Byrne reference).

Put up the wee tree. The reindeer came from Habitat about 30 yrs ago. The blue tealight holder from a gallery (in the old Gilmours) in Strathaven.

Four of my Xmas favourites.

Put the Xmas decorations up a day early. Wee tree in the porch later today.

I was trying to remember where I'd seen Dom Watters, star of Christmas in Scotland. It was playing Spanky in The Slab Boys at the Ramshorn in March 2010.

Not only does Root of Evil feature a 12 Yr old Joe McFadden, there's also Kirsty (Maggie) Miller, whom I worked with in Pinter's The Birthday Party in the early summer of 1996.

I had my 30th in the Tron and ushered there for about a year in the mid-90s. You can see the vom that vanished with refurbishment. Coincidentally, I was in a play about Lizzie Borden (Blood Relations) that year.

Taggart: Root of Evil presents a colourful snapshot of Glasgow 1988. The terrifying Coca-Cola Roller I went on twice and the Tron's Victorian Bar. Murphy's was my pint in those days.

I stood in the queue for the opening of the Inverness Sostrene Grene for an hour yesterday. Xmas daft, me.

Sinead Keenan ( werewolf, Vinvocci) & John Michie in Ruchill Park- the East End, in Taggart's parallel geography. I think North Glasgow is full of hidden gems; amazing views to the south and East.

Lorraine McGowan is fantastic as ruthless property developer Charlie. She could do anything Eve Myles did, backwards and in high heels.

Taggart: Tenement April 2007.
A particularly gory mystery about gentrification, corruption and revenge.
Cora Bissett, a true artist, used to say hello to me in the Bridge, in Easterhouse, around that time.

A couple of cameos. I think the lady in red is "Officer Karen" Bartke, one of the kindest, most thoughtful people you could meet.
Iain Mossman, I think, as a cop. A friend of my brother from Chapelton in the 80s-90s.

The late Iain McColl. A gentleman. I took part in a radio workshop at BBC Scotland with him in the 90s. Led by Hamish Wilson ( the alternate Jamie in Dr Who: The Mind Robber, 1968).

You've been kidnapped, etc, etc
All good.

My pal Davie McGowan in River City. Trained at the Strasberg School, a boxer, a Mod, and no bad chanter.
