There are some movies I like better than the book.
It’s also important to remember that they are different mediums for consuming entertainment.
What I look for is if it has the soul of the story in it. Just about anything else can be forgiven/overlooked.

Roku has an app remote, I’m sure Google will have one as well. The Roku wasn’t as seamless as Apple’s, but still better than trying to find the remote.

If I recall from my Android days chrome cast was originally the name for Google’s AirPlay. Whatever it’s called, yes they have screen mirroring. It’s not compatible with AirPlay, but since you have a chromecast you don’t have to worry about compatibility.

Tell me you banged your shin without telling me you banged your shin. Hopefully that’s not the case and you spotted it before it could happen

This makes me wonder if these cool features you mentioned in your post will be accessible in HA.

And the other big one for me is no video clip history despite having sd cards in all of them. I’m guessing this one is because I don’t have their NVR
Without a third party integration I have to go to their app to see this. Which is a big deal when consolidating apps for household members.

I do love all the exposed entities. It’s made it so I can mute the doorbell at night.
But the video loading is a hit or miss (taking over a minute to load and jumpy) hard to tell where the fault would be on this, but I have no problems when loading the videos through scrypted.

Is it not this?

Very interested, however I’ve found Reolink’s integration lacking in HA. Would be an instant buy from me if they improved that.

My old manager told me when he was in college 20+ years ago his professor stated to the class that they shouldn’t get into programming because it would all be automated by the time they finished college. He was grateful that he didn’t listen to that professor.

I will use them in speech, but if I need to write it down I just swap in “impact”. Doesn’t matter how many times it’s explained to me I can’t figure them out.

I think rated voting is the better option. It is less confusing than ranked choice (if done right) and better expresses how voters feel about a candidate. But given the choice between ranked voting and first past the post; definitely ranked choice all the way.

I thought the Humpty Dumpty was a riddle. This would explain why it never refers to him as an egg. For example the riddle
“A wee wee man
In a red red coat
Staff in my hand
And a stone in my throat”
Flows like a nursery rhyme as well.

We got some a couple years ago. Decided not to get the sound system at the time. Figured we could upgrade later on. Been hesitant since I’m not sure how well the connection would work with Apple TV

With smart home devices only get devices that can function without an internet connection ( look for Matter logo) use something like HomeKit or home assistant.
Just a few things to look into if you want to enjoy technology while limiting the risks.

There are lots of resources online that teach internet safety and limit how much they can track you.
Give apps on your phone the bare minimum permissions. Use browsers that hide your ip and limit tracking cookies. Give websites the bare minimum details. Just a few simple things.

The clapper never connected to the internet….
Don’t get me wrong, you should be suspicious of anything that has a microphone in today’s world. However, the danger of thinking it’s only the things that have a microphone that are spying makes people overlook the easier ways to keep tabs on all you do.

I just saw a new iteration at an airport that pushed the water down and towards the wall. Didn’t dry my hands all the way, but it contained the droplets really well.

I’ve seen a video where they did a skit making fun of finance bros. But then people started clipping the video and treating it like they were serious. I’m hoping that’s the case here, but hard to tell from the clip.

I look back occasionally at my list of videos that I’ve liked and there’s only like 30 of them. Should be in the hundreds. I’ve seen videos come up again that I know I’ve liked and it’s showing like I’ve never seen it before.
