Yesterday went to The Longest Yarn exhibition at Sherborne Abbey. 80 scenes from WW2 depicted in astonishingly good knitting! See outbreak of war, allotments in Kensington Gardens and the Bletchley codebreaking machine ....

Here we are on a U3A walk by a memorial to 1st World War German POWs, who had been held in a camp near Dorchester.
Little known today.
My friend, a former teacher, described points of interest on the walk. I told her she should hand out colouring sheets as well ...

This morning I'm off on a U3A walk which a friend and I have organised.
What with questions about route, suitable clothing and weather; plus the pub where we are going for lunch insisting we arrive at a specific time and not a minute later; it's been Operation Overlord levels of planning.

My childhood memory of Hallowe'en is of trying to stay awake until midnight so I could hold a conversation with our black cat.

Never managed it.
