I finished the latest episode of Only Murders in the Building last night and, well, you be the judge...

I will never not think of these two photos when I hear the name Pelosi, also when she maintained decorum during the SOTU and then very publicly ripped up T's speech afterwards.

It's been such an honor and so much fun to serve as emcee for LMU's Global Conversations this fall! Three fascinating conversations and Finding Your Roots episodes: John Legend, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Joe Manganiello, each in conversation with FYR creator Professor Henry Louis Gates.

I love this photo. It shows, like his videos, how much Zohran Mamdani loves NYC & New Yorkers in all their diversity. Cuomo doesn't; he seeks power for its own sake, & his vile racist fearmongering reveals contempt for that diversity. 📷 Brandon Stanton, Humans of New York (from FB), dearnewyork.com.

So excited to dig into this graphic history from @richardivanjobs.bsky.social and to see how I can integrate it into my world history through graphic narratives course.

Back in August 2017, I made my own viewer for the solar eclipse. "I scienced the shit of it!" (humanities-level science, of course 😂) #HATM

I have been a loyal reader of the @nytimes.com Kids Section for the past 8 years. The last issue was today. 😢 Reading kids talk about what's important to them was always my favorite part. Case in point: this advice about conquering middle school. The advice is just as good for college – and life!

Is anyone surprised that T caved and abandoned our allies?

Today's @mississippifreepress.org email includes this image, taken at the Memorial for the Murdered for the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin. I was wondering if it was intentional, a subtle message to an admittedly niche audience, but it's used quite a bit & is available on Unsplash (Toa Heftiba).

Thought of you when I took these two photos yesterday in Zagreb. The surveillance camera in the first one brings in our present too.

LMU’s Marymount Institute was founded to preserve the legacy and contributions of the RSHM Sisters and the Marymount educational tradition. The unwavering commitment of the RHSM Sisters to our immigrant neighbors is a model for us all.

If the protesters really wanted to trigger people, they would start waving the Fiesta Flag.

I’ve been reading Wright Thompson’s “The Barn” and read this passage about Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood shortly after reading Kai’s post about DJT’s speech – about people who honorably served a country that systematically oppressed them. Think about that, remember them.

Congratulations to all the LMU ‘25 graduates, especially a great graduating class from History. #lmugrad And yes, our speaker was Questlove!

And congratulations to my GSP Hoyas mentee, who is graduating today from Georgetown’s SFS.

So proud of you all! Can’t wait to see what you do next!

Congratulations to Loyola Marymount University beach volleyball on a great season and tournament run. Almost got LMU our first NCAA championship. 2-2, down to the 3rd set in the #1 pairs match, playing against a pair of Olympians. Fell a little short but so much to be proud of.

Ovechkin is an incredible goal-score – no question – and congrats to him on the record. But take a look at the differential in total points: 2857 vs. 1619. Jagr is 2nd in career points with 1921. Gretzky just stands alone.

A friend sent me this photo of a burned stop sign at Drummond St in the Palisades.

I did an image source to track down the original photographer, and it looks like it was taken by Aaron Huey, from National Geographic, @argonautphoto on Insta.

In the midst of all this, I salute the firefighters who are working non-stop (I don't say tirelessly b/c I know that they are exhausted) to fight fires. And they remind me of the U.S. Coast Guard who continued rescues on the Mississippi coast even after being ordered down. 7/10 Image: 3FishStudios

You are always, always!, on alert, constantly checking the news and now the apps (thank god for Watch Duty). And that sense of high-alert anxiety has not been helped in in L.A. with 2 false alarm evacuations warnings in the space of 12 hours, one at 4am this morning. 3/10
