But you already got me. I admit, Western leftwing intellectuals supporting Russia (and previously, USSR) don't exist. Can I at least have that they existed in 1956 or not even that? Anyway, of course none exist today. I mean, nobody can think of ever a single name if I don't name it, right?

I totally absolutely cannot ome up with a single one. There was never any Western leftwing intellectual supporting USSR (and Russia afterwards). You win by default. The last tankie quit in mid 1957 (he said "gosh, is it July already? I forgot, I quit!").

They are relevant. Maybe not to the current government, but to say they are irrelevant is insane wishful thinking (of course I wish they were completely irrelevant, but unlike some ppl in the us of a, I respect reality and logic).

It's like with quasars, when someone says "they are something else than current science is saying", it might be an interesting conversaion, but "they don't exist: is a convo killer. Have it your way, all tankies disappeared by mid-1957.

Defining the terms you are using is not exactly an effort, especially not "on people". You need it for yourself. At least if you care about logical coherency... yeah, that's an effort. So please, put some swear words instead, it's always easier.

You can't think of a single name of a prominent Western intellectual / celebrity / journalist supporting Russia (now) and USSR (when it existed)? I don't believe it. For me, some names are just too plainly obvious.

I do have terms for "centrists and right wingers", but in my native language. As far as I know, in English you have only "tankies". Some of them are unfortunately quite relevant - celebrities, public intellectuals, journalists (etc.).

Just because they arent't, it does not make them "irrelevant". As much as I hate some of the most prominent tankies, I would never use the word "irrelevant" to describe them. Unfortunately, they are still relevant (where is the cancel culture when you need it).

Are "quasars" relevant to your current systems of power? No. Are they irrelevant? No. Can they be defined? Yes (not sure about you, but I can). Not everything in this universe has to be relevant to your "current systems of power".

I never "admitted it’s irrelevance". I just provided the definition of "tankie". In my personal opinion, it is unfortunately quite relevant. They are famous public intellectuals and social media personas who fit the definition and are relevant.

Thanks for getting my joke! For 3 days I was trying to (a) persuade that person that "tankie" actually DOES have a definition, (b) make her define a "centrist", but all I got was the typical American meltdown, full of insults, low on coherency.

The post you are quoting now was a quote itself of the earlier one (however, when I was chaning "tankie" to a "centrist", I also corrected the spelling mistake of the original "theyre"). Again, can you find the original one or you need help with it? Americans will never surprise me, so be my guest.

I got into this convo because someone said ""Tankie" is just a word centrists use to describe imaginary people theyre upset at.". This sentence is simply not true. That's all I'm saying. Are you able to find who wrote it? Do you need some help?
