clones in multiple locations provides both the navigational clarity of folders and the flexibility of tags.

And as a geo-fan, I really like the option to create map notes.

Renaming a GRASS GIS mapset renders space-time datasets in a temporal dataset unaccessible. A note to self how to deal with this, including a Python script.

I believe there are still plenty of aspiring field ecologists out there. But it is increasingly difficult to become one with the growing difficulty of securing sustainable funding for fieldwork. Also, as highlighted before, academia's reward system often seem to undervalue field-based studies.

Nice. What are the advantages compared to the R package? And on another note, do you know of similar tools / methods for other types of species (I am thinking about the red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii)?
