The last did her honest part to satisfy us with whatever we could ask her during field 🍏 She shared with us the challenges of climate change in Kitui and their smart approach to collecting and storing water in tanks for the dry season. Roland shows a us and some other friends videos of designs in his gardens while standing outdoors in a dry landscape with water jerry cans nearby.

We reached Kitui in Kenya when Roland was just at the starting point of digging a well that will provide water for his farm. We helped with our energy, and today he is brought in experts to dig it deeper, in this semi-arid area. I believe this is the best solution for […]

Roland and his wife showing us the well under construction and explaining how deep they want it to go. Beside them stand several well-digging experts, together with me and my colleagues, all gathered around the site in the semi-arid area of Kitui, Kenya...

This morning at Roland’s compound, I saw a pawpaw tree with nails hammered into it. Curious, I asked why. He explained that when a tree is proven male (which can’t bear fruits), they piece nails into it to change its gender so it becomes female and produces to the max […]

@hyperlinkyourheart On our first field visit with Roland, we saw the real picture of how people live with climate challenges. He stays in a place that is often affected by drought, and he told us that when the rain finally comes, it pours too much, destroying balance […]

A small permaculture garden with young green vegetables growing in red dry soil, protected by fences made of local sticks. Despite the drought conditions, the garden is kept alive through regular irrigation every two days, showing resilience and creativity in farming under climate challenges. Roland showing us a lot of different partly small gardens with a lot of crops foods in a dry field with red soil.

This is us after reaching Roland’s house in Kitui. We had breakfast together and then spent time watching many videos about the work he does in permaculture. Everyone is smiling and relaxed, enjoying the first moments of our training journey. Inside Roland’s creative village home in Kitui, we sat together watching his television that runs fully on solar energy. The house is built with unique designs and decorated with colorful bottles, showing his innovation and love for sustainable living.
