You can use auto focus or manual focus lenses.

Something like that Canon, Nikon, Pentax or whoever that would be my recommendation. So cheap that is you end up hating film who cares.

Thinking more about it. I just bought a nikon n80 It was crazy cheap and works great.

You can get one with lens under $100 easy. Very easy to use. Has full auto, shutter priority(for sports, birds etc) aperture priority (bokeh, controlling depth of field) and fully manual mode.

One thing I will say.... Not a boring time to be alive.

Also, drop your recommendations on cameras and film! I've been itching to get back into film photography but I don't have a camera... or film lmao

Might get a Cannon AE-1! Thoughts?

Depth of field control mainly. More ability to keep the whole scene is in focus.

You would still have control on the ae-1 it would just be fully manual mode.

If you want a simple slr to start shooting look at 90's plastic slr's. They are cheap and capable.

Ae-1 seems fine. I would personally prefer a camera with aperture priority.

You'd mostly shoot buildings? Get a wide lens 28 or 35 maybe.

I can't really speak to canon glass but I'm sure it's fine. Maybe someone else can give canon specific recs.

Thanks! I cropped the absolute hell out of it haha.

I shoot Nikon. I like that all the lenses are basically compatible. F mount lenses spanned decades.

Are you shooting a DSLR or something now? Do you have any lenses that would be compatible with a film camera?

Yeah i have a modern Diana and a vintage Diana. Neither has a lens i love. Bit of a crapshoot i suppose.
