Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.

Man alive. The contrast between the courage of voters and the absolute cowardice of Democratic leadership is just undeniable and the story of the moment.

The question is which will win out in the end and that question just got a whole lot louder.

Let’s clarify: the GOP is responsible for SNAP benefits NOT being paid when there is a $5B congressional appropriation within the USDA budget to pay SNAP benefits in case of government shut down. The both of these clowns are lying. 🤥

I always point out—for a man who confidently speaks on the law everyday-that Stephen Miller, in fact, did not go to law school and very, often is profoundly wrong about the law.
Today's "One First" explains why Stephen Miller is wrong that ICE officers have "federal immunity" from prosecution for all actions they take in their official duties, and that anyone attempting to prosecute them is committing a felony.

Supremacy Clause immunity is a thing, but it's *not* absolute:
186. When Can States Prosecute Federal Officers?
Stephen Miller claims that ICE officers have "immunity" for anything they do while enforcing immigration law. Even as an argument about *state* criminal prosecutions, that claim is overstated at best.

They got Claudine Gay out of the Harvard presidency over a footnote.
Ngl, seeing “you’re holding the nazi tatted racist white man to impossible standards” as a Black woman, aka the demographic ACTUALLY held to impossible standards, pisses me off deeply. The bar is so low for them and they still can’t clear it, but we’re “ideological purists” for pointing that out.

I'd love to know how many people learned today about
AWS (Amazon Web Services) and how many companies depend on it for service because they don't pay for their own servers/infrastructure. It's a scary reminder that big companies like Amazon can bring many things we see as important to a quick halt.

These findings shouldn't surprise anyone, given the current political climate. But they should shame anyone who hasn't seen the need to protect queer and trans kids--and the family members, healthcare providers, and teachers supporting them--from dangerous political attacks.
The kids are not alright.

Longitudinal research shows that rates of mental health distress among LGBTQ+ youth have increased since 2023, that they're less able to access mental health care, and that nearly 1/4 have been threatened with conversion therapy.

I prefer “anti-fascist“ for a host of reasons and this is a nice practical one.
I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.
