Tomorrow (Thurs) night I’m playing drums for the only east coast appearance of Dew Claw (ex-Hypnolovewheel, XL Kings, King Missile, etc.)! James McNew from Yo LaTengo is on bass! Ira and Georgia are DJing! Not to mention Greg Cartwright solo and Sloppy Heads!! All at Mama Tried in BK, 6:30pm! Go!!

HEY! My first fill-in of the new @wfmu.bsky.social schedule is this Tues, Sept 16, at 3pm!
The show will mostly (maybe entirely, haven’t timed it out yet) consist of an interview with Bill Janovitz about his imminent book about The Cars, interrupted by plenty of the band’s music. Don’t miss it!

Some news about my @wfmu.bsky.social radio show. Sorry for the text post, but I couldn’t think of a suitable image. See the alt text if you can’t read the screenshot.

SOME NEWS: You may have heard me mention this on Wednesday, or seen posts about the new WFMU schedule, but if not I’m sorry to let you know that my show is not on the upcoming Fall / Winter / Spring schedule. I’ve got one more weekly show this Wednesday Sept 5 (which will feature a conversation with Lene Lovich!), then after that I’ll just be doing intermittent fill-ins for the foreseeable future.

It’s long been WFMU policy to have longtime DJs sit out a schedule to allow new DJs the opportunity to do a weekly show. And the silver lining here is that there will be some great new DJs on the air during the next nine months.

I’ll be posting about upcoming fill-ins here and on my other social media accounts, so stay tuned!

Tonight’s Red Sox TV telecast is being called by an all-woman crew and it is glorious. Such a breath of fresh air! Emma Tiedemann is handling the play-by-play and she sounds great, which is no surprise really since she’s usually calling games for the AA Portland Sea Dogs. More of this please!
