One of my earliest moments of radicalization was in 2005 when Larry Summers said that women biologically have less aptitude for science than men. Following that, scores of equally unimpressive people wrote pieces trying to explain or justify his remarks, when they should have called for his removal.

Yeah, my original calculus was based wondering on whether the money being with Amazon is any better than going to the authors in question, but as another person pointed out, there are additional factors in terms of it acting as promotion for them

I hadn’t considered that. Thank you for raising that point. I think it does sway me in the other direction.

I think since they were already purchased, that there isn’t anything wrong with giving them away. Maybe you could suggest that anyone claiming them throws a couple of bucks (if they can afford it) to an lgbt+ charity or a women’s shelter?

The mutant baby really frustrated me because so much of the car scene is creepy and unsettling and then it’s just a laughably dumb monster reveal.

If you haven’t read Matt Singer’s book about them, it’s a great read.

I introduced my British husband to the joy of deviled eggs earlier this year and now that I am moving over to the UK, I plan to make them for so many social gatherings.

One thing I love that I only noticed after binge watching is that Columbo’s schtick with the perps completely turns off when he’s talking to anyone who’s not the perp. If it’s just a rando he needs a small fact from he gets really brusque and to-the-point, like “yadda yadda you’re in my way here.”
