There’s a sound artist who does installation recordings of nature, in the 70s and 80s he only needed a few hours to create a recording and now it takes him days cause there *aren’t enough living things outside to make enough noise* anymore

Anyone else seeing that? Is it my imagination, or do his hands look just a LITTLE too big for his frame

(The latter is really what 3D printing is - molding without a physical mold.) Even stuff like chips and the hardware that goes into automation has to be handmade to a significant degree, simply because human hands attached to humans and wielding instruments are simply the most practical tools for it
