You learn how dark the world is from a young age when the “wise” adults tell you that creating a worldview around everyone having enough food to eat, ending wars, and ubiquitous happiness is too “idealistic.” We didn’t need ‘socialist indoctrination’ to come to these conclusions, just basic empathy.

If there was an award for manufacturing consent amongst “liberals” for the genocide in Gaza, NYT deserves first place. Don’t stop there, look at every unjustified war of the past 6 decades and the propaganda fueling it—you will see the New York Times’ bloody fingerprints at the scene of each crime.

You know why I appreciate Jewish history, because it intersects with every other area of history. From foundations of monotheism to Greek/Roman conquests to the origins of European racism to colonial and fascistic histories, Jews are front and center. You cannnot know history without knowing Jews.

as an extension of white Europe in Africa. They did not assimilate. South Asians in Africa did. To further prove this is a social construct, I know many white (blonde, pale, etc) North Africans who would select black or African (before the MENA category) because it best reflected their identity.

This attempt to chastise Zohran for putting black/African for his identity in uni apps is not only racist but idiotic. These questions are not about blood, but identification with social constructs. Boers, German Namibians and Rhodesians in America put white because they socially see themselves…

They wanted to be different and separate because the French made Arabness grotesque. It was not a genuine attempt to decolonize their identity and reclaim their roots but rather the product of divide and conquer by Europeans that made them gravitate towards Phoenician identity.
elijahkahlenberg.bsky.social
I think many in the Middle East get annoyed when Lebanese (specifically Maronites) say they are “Phoenician, not Arab” not because it’s incorrect (many do have lineage from Phoenicians, Jews, other Canaanites, etc) but rather because they adopted this position because of French colonialism.

To these Democrats like Gillibrand and Swalwell refusing to endorse Zohran—and in many cases devolving to promote Islamophobia—I hope you know your days are numbered. The grassroots voters are reclaiming this country; the corporate interests that propped you up are dying! You won’t be missed.

More than anything to me, mental decolonization means someone knows who they are. History is a powerful too, if you know your past, you have a vision of liberation for the future.

Apparently this information was produced due to incorrect statistics provided in the professor’s data. Regardless, Haaretz has confirmed that the 40,000 figure is still far below the actual number. 100K+ is still the true figure. See the article below from yesterday.

I do not blame Syrians or Sharaa for this. After a genocide and facing crippling sanctions, Sharaa’s only global allies said if you want to stabilize your nation, have affordable food, and a semblance of normalcy, these are the conditions you have to accept. I blame US & Saudi for forcing this only.
elijahkahlenberg.bsky.social
And hence wants Syria to do it, not Saudi, as a middle ground that Israel will accept (since Israel wants Saudi normalization the most). Normalization agreements and internationally recognized sovereignty over area C are the prizes Israel wants b4 stopping its terrorism over Gazans.
elijahkahlenberg.bsky.social
If Syria normalizes, it’ll be the result of US and Saudi pressure. The US sanction relief was at least implicitly tied to guarantees of normalization. Saudi does not want to normalize themselves so MBS pressured Sharaa to accept his foreign policy positions for debt relief…

While phone-banking for Zohran, an older Jewish woman was very agitated how I—as a Jew—supported him. She said I was “no better than a Palestinian.” I replied “to be called Palestinian is an unmatched compliment.” No one is more resilient, strong-willed, and honorable at this moment. What an honor.
elijahkahlenberg.bsky.social
When you can’t fear-monger Columbia to get NYPD to come and mass arrest Palestinian students: this is akin to when my ancestors endured chattle slavery. Oh & Shai, the Exodus story is about liberation from oppression. I think Mamdani upholds that theme better than any other NY politician in history.

Chilling study done by an Israeli professor about the true death total in Gaza. He uses military-demographic data (provided by the IDF) to assert that the true death total in Gaza is actually closer to 400,000—not 40,000—since Oct 7. This is an extermination campaign, it’s beyond genocide.
elijahkahlenberg.bsky.social
I want to give a special shoutout to Brad Lander. It was honorable of you to stand by Mamdani during this race. The attacks on your character and on your Jewishness must’ve been heart-wrenching, but you stood by your beliefs and for your city. I am forever a fan, Kol HaKavod (all the respect).
elijahkahlenberg.bsky.social
If this wasn’t a mayoral race, I would totally want to see a sitcom between Lander and Mamdani as roommates. The funny older Jewish dude with his handsome, cool Muslim roommate would produce endless entertainment.

Trump made up the ceasefire. Thought it could be a good propaganda tool to be used against Iran when they continue their retaliation against Israel and the US. One of the dumbest propaganda attempts I have seen in my life.
elijahkahlenberg.bsky.social
With Iran’s strikes on US bases, every media outlet will be focused on whether Trump will respond with “unimaginable force” as he has often asserted. Meanwhile, do not let this distract you from the fact that Israel’s genocide in Gaza continues in full force. Stay focused on the plight of Gazans!!

We will fight and protest to such a degree that our civil disobedience dwarfs all other prior activism in our nation's history, and most importantly we will not give up.
elijahkahlenberg.bsky.social
Sadly we knew this was coming. This is the beginning of many dark days ahead. The only light I can see is our generation, a generation that will not succumb to the propaganda that led this nation down a path of despair and destruction 22 years ago in Iraq…

As an American & a Jew, I condemn the actions of both Israel and the US—two maniacal, depraved, rogue states. Thousands of lives unnecessarily are about to be taken, with nuclear war and world war on the verge of outbreak. Americans must fight against our state’s evils for posterity & world peace.

A weakened Persian state even under hostile leadership would not remotely challenge any regional actor after a Balkanization project removed Baluchistan and Turkic-majority areas from its midst.
