Last week, I watched the popular regenerative ag film Kiss the Ground, and the new follow-up documentary Common Ground. The films' claims -- esp. around climate -- are even more hyperbolic than I knew: www.vox.com/future-perfe...

I've read a slew of articles on how we got to this MAHA moment, and what they all seem to miss is how entrenched the nature-tech divide is and why it's a false dichotomy. This essay by @jandutkiewicz.bsky.social and @garrettbroad.bsky.social really explains it well: newrepublic.com/article/1933...
The Flawed Ideology That Unites Grass-Fed Beef Fans and Anti-Vaxxers
From RFK Jr. to Hollywood A-listers and Democratic senators, people across the political spectrum are jumping onto the slippery slope of nature-based solutionism.

Was on @news.sky.com this morning discussing 5 years since that first lockdown.

More efficient uptake by plants could reduce mineral fertiliser use, but most nitrogen pollution is from manure produced by animals raised for food. Meaningful reduction of pollution and its onward negative biodiversity impacts requires a massive (if not complete) reduction in livestock farming.

Trump’s first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up.

The Land Use Framework consultation government is launching is necessary and important. We urgently need to make strategic national decisions about what should go where: to restore ecosystems, stop urban flooding and better plan development.
