The goal is to humiliate trans people and make our lives unlivable. It's a terror campaign. In the ideal world of these far-right activists, people would be scared to hire a trans person for a job, for instance, for fear of something like this happening.

It enrages me how the right manufactured a controversy out of an imagined epidemic of supposed conservative self-censorship at universities, until they could usurp the power to *actually* control and restrict the range of acceptable speech and tuition way more harshly.
