His car was driven back to Jacksonville center and torched to set an example. He was not robbed. His murderers were never held accountable. The crime was barely investigated. I was 6 years old. My grandfather’s legacy is my political activism. And now his rose is gone. I am crushed. 🌹

The rose my grandfather, Herbert Robbins (a florist) created for Jacqueline Kennedy was in there. He was murdered in Jacksonville, FL December 1964 for offering to assist a woman of color who was having car problems. He was taken to a swamp, beaten & shot. (1/2)

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

Easy to believe this guy ignored someone who passed out in the Oval Office. He did ignore a guest at a Mar-a-Lago event who fell off the stage and split his head open and complained about the blood staining his marble floor. The lack of empathy is on-brand.

I've seen the look of panic on a moms face, trying to figure out if they have more groceries than money left on snap card. It's heartbreaking. Once, one went over and was trying to figure out what to put back. I gave her the $12, be kind, help when you can, vote like your life depends on it!

It’s not 50%, it’s never been used against the wishes of a governor except when they are defying the Supreme Court’s rulings, and it is presumably reviewable by federal courts to determine if it is invoked pretextually and in bad faith.
