MP for Lewisham West and East Dulwich. Labour Party Chair. Minister of State without Portfolio in the Cabinet Office.
Today, under this Labour Government, the UK has formally recognised the State of Palestine.

I welcome this historic decision to affirm the rights of Palestinians and protect the two-state solution, the only path to a just and lasting peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Under the Tories, water companies got away with polluting our rivers while paying themselves millions in bonuses. But no longer. Under Labour:

❌Bonuses banned for Thames Water Execs
💷Record £123m fine for pollution and unearned dividends
✅Cleaning up our rivers and seas

Great to host an honest & powerful discussion with women from @5050parliament.bsky.social on the barriers women face standing for selection & election.

Thank you to all those who have stood or served in elected office. Your voice matters & together we’ll keep pushing for equality.

From setting up Great British Energy to the fastest growth in the G7, Labour is delivering our Plan for Change.

There's more to do, but after 14 years of Tory decline, Britain is turning a corner under this Labour government.

Proud to stand alongside my fellow women MPs to mark 97 years since women won the right to vote on equal terms with men.

Honoured to wear my sash as the 471st woman elected to the House of Commons.

Thank you @centenaryaction.bsky.social and RE Make Newport for a powerful tribute. 💜

Jo is deeply missed by her friends and family.

Her legacy will always be remembered in the Labour Party, and we will continue to honour her words that we 'have far more in common than that which divides us.'
