1) Can get serious issues from constipation like blood supply to the intestines being blocked which can lead to tissue dying, tear in the intestines, life-threatening infection (sepsis) that spreads through the bloodstream. Untreated constipation can also lead to vomiting feaces ((copremesis).

Making (cheaper) corned beef slices at home...
1) chill can for minimum 12 hours, 24 is better.
2) Open both ends with tin opener.
3) Slowly push from smaller end until the thickness of slice you want is exposed.
4) Use a sharp knife, edge of tin as a guide and cut slice. Repeat.
5) Enjoy.
