I refer to my breakup with the rat bastard as "my divorce" and I'm MAYBE thinking about starting again but it's mostly because I want the help with potential home reno projects when I buy. But then what if they turn out to be bad news and they know where I live?? 😬

Yeah that's why I'm thinking about taking them to a pro. Let them use their expertise and skill and do what's best for the chairs.

You wouldn't imagine my surprise when I lived on a road called "Fish Hatchery" and assumed it was a reference to a bygone fish hatchery, only to find it was very much still around.

My hope is to even out the tone, but I'm okay with keeping some of it. Darker spots and patina from use are one thing (things?), but what's bothering me are the light spots where the wood looks bare/the finish is gone.

You can't see it in the photo but there are some stains on the cushions that I don't know if my carpet/upholstery cleaner could get up because of the texture of the fabric. The cushions are in solid shape otherwise! Also chairs are $$$ it's cheaper to work with what you've got

Once I buy a house I will be very excited to receive guests 😉 and if those guests want to do a project while they visit??? I'm not about to say no. They really are nice chairs, the cushions could also stand to be reupholstered but even those I kinda want to keep a similar color/vibe.

I would also like to state for the people that when I do get these chairs professionally refinished, I will be requesting they get refinished with a color as close to the original as possible. Some might call it orange but I appreciate wood with a warm tone (also... my grandpa would haunt me).
