It's coming up on a year since I've seen my Seattle friends and it hurts like hell not knowing when or if I'll get to see them again.

I think it's also worth noting that so much of the USA is underpaid that a living wage /will/ seem like a lot to folks.

Imo it's not a "lot". Don't get me wrong, it's not small, but I wouldn't classify it as a lot. It's a living wage.

It really depends where you're living, though. Theoretically it might be a lot in a rural community, but somewhere like NY or LA it's barely a living wage.
