rule one of having a colonial empire is do not let the people you send over there get attached to a local form of wealth extraction you can't just take away from them and rule two is burn all of your records afterwards

ah i see so the line on the democratic party aiding and abetting the murder of hundreds of thousands and allowing their client state to invade its neighbours is "you are a jew-hater". that's wonderful, I'm sure you can convince Mamdani to publicly support that position if you ask him really nicely

no matter how hard you wish otherwise, we can remember Biden rambling on about decapitated babies and Clinton telling Muslim Democratic voters that Israel was justified in its campaign of extermination. no amount of squealing about Trump will make that go away.

I respect spinning this out into a series of hairsplitting analyses, but is this really the sensible Democrat defense for its embrace of the Zionist political project? the lancet paper that estimated 186,000 dead in Gaza was released during Biden's term, and no change in position has occurred since.

is the idea here that mamdani winning on an anti-zionist platform against the inertia of the entire democratic party washes the blood from their collective hands? has the party's leadership made some big announcement about their gleeful support of mass extermination that i haven't heard?

Anyway, this is of a piece with John Ganz’s Oct 7 essay, to me anyway. both profound statements of cosmopolitan citizenship, from very different people with very different views

if your wife has recommendations for movies in farsi, irani films have a very high reputation. I've seen jokes along the lines of "if you left an irani man in a field with a camcorder you'd find him at a film festival the next day for the screening of his haunting meditation on love and loss"

anytime a reactionary poster gets sentimental about their childhood it's like having a glimpse into a hoarder's bedroom before they close the door

it should be in vending machines and have fun branding based on the dosage and whether its paired with an anti-androgen. the testosterone should straight up copy cigarette pack branding from the 60s

it mostly feels like an exercise in posting calisthenics after Ephraims post left what was probably a very receptive audience and hit people who didn't accept his bit without question, I do respect the complete lockin on saying absolutely anything to exhaust their opponents and avoid the main issue

oh my god you almost got me 🫡 it's been years thank you

your analysis is ahistorical and you know this, so your plan is to be very outraged and to describe historical critique as an antisemitic attack. this maybe works with the occasional hapless coworker at a department seminar but I wouldn't publish these ideas anywhere permanent if I was you

do you believe the new testament was compiled after the 8th century?
October 24, 2025 at 4:46 AM
for the sake of the people who come to you to learn, you should accept that you will have to abandon this exegesis and develop one that is more substantive. you will improve as a teacher and as a scholar in the process if you do so.
October 24, 2025 at 4:24 AM
do you believe then that the people who compiled the new testament associated Jewish people with financial operations? if not, where does the financial association come from in the text? are you not supposed to be someone who teaches this subject?
October 24, 2025 at 3:58 AM
also even 350AD is still far too early for the Christian view of Jewish financial networks they seem to believe is some ancient eternal reality, it's a vibes-based exegesis that relies on the reader thinking Jewish people have eternally been The People Who Handle The Money
October 24, 2025 at 3:36 AM
I don't care, you are supporting an interpretation of the new testament that has nothing to do with history in order to defend a very bad reading of it. you are taking something that was used to alienate Jewish people after the commercial revolution and making it an essential part of Jewish identity
October 24, 2025 at 2:57 AM
the development of Jewish financial networks into the ruling classes of Europe does not predate the Caliphate. attempting to ahistorically tie Jewish life to financial operations before this time is at best a poor way to defend someone on a website and is at worst genuinely anti-semitic
October 24, 2025 at 1:47 AM
do you believe the new testament was compiled and spread late enough in the first millennium for Jewish people to be already be associated specifically with working in financial services by Christian society?
October 24, 2025 at 1:21 AM
do you believe that under Roman rule the Jewish people were specifically associated with working in financial services?

this might just also be too broad to be useful. I can't think of a group that holds a certain analytical lens or collection of sacred knowledge in high regard that doesn't also compliment you and reward you for sharing in it. is every academic, mystic, partisan, or adib just naturally a fascist?

I think after the USSR gets magically folded by the stolen supertech, the Nazis move through China and then enforce terms on Japan. they're a puppet, but that's the problem for me, only the Germans get to be a horrific larger-than-life cyber nightmare, when Japan could absolutely shine in that role
