I've also learnt about the historic/influential Scottish Romani tradition within Scottish folksong on BBC Scotland radio & tv programmes. btw This is a link to a 2023 @efdss.bsky.social article, with audio song links, at the start of that research project. www.efdss.org/about-us/wha... :)

My pleasure, as soon as I saw it I remembered your informative and interesting writings about Romani family, heritage and all things on this important part of our cultural history.

How exciting, thank you for this information and the links. :)

Belatedly, that's a splendid gift from 'your' grass snake, it must feel safe when in your wildlife friendly garden. Going to be star object to examine and draw for the 'nature' days with your G'children. :)

Think the fesser in this case is referring to UK elections where each ballot paper has a square box against each of the named candidates. The voter must draw an X in the box next to their chosen candidate. UK ballot papers are usually to elect one candidate. Applies to postal & in person voting. :)

Excellently done, thank you. :)

What excellent fostering care you are both doing. Do hope there are enough folks coming forward interested in offering both mother and the kittens long term foster or separate forever homes. :)

Agree with you, and as someone older than the internet I decided that was to be my response to verification as well. :)

Wonder if the Council has any rules on what their tenants can display/attach to the property? Back in the 1970's knew one London Council still had rules for flat dwelling tenants eg that they had to wash the landing floor outside their flat at least once a week & couldn't put washing to dry there.

Am a big fan of their dark 'winter warmer' brews, Old No 6 & Moon Madness, but enjoy Slumbering Monk anytime. The absorbing of the old Stag pub with a new build extension at the Red Lion Brewery & Pub has worked well making it a great multi functional place & planned home for Market Drayton museum.

Joules, perfectly brewed in here in North Shropshire is always a great choice of ale. Cheers!

Yes same here, was usually the pillowcases. My covers have buttons so I get away with only doing 1 out of 3 up & leave them closed when pegging out after a lesson learnt years ago when a wasp decided to hide inside one & surprised me when I was folding the dry cover!

Yes, inside out duvet covers win. When I strip the covers off I do it so they end up inside out, shake them and wash then peg them out on the whirligig still inside out. When dry fold them still inside out so when unfolded the open end is handy to put hands in to grab the corners & pull on. :)

Am just catching up on here, that certainly looks like a 'be good for the throat' combination, hope it helps. :)

Agree, and aways splendid threads from @dreadships.bsky.social. btw I saw earlier you've been hit by a lurgy, hope it's nothing worse than a nasty cold. Am so lucky to have early access to NHS oldies autumn jabs at our GPs, was covid today & flu tomorrow so hopefully will hold infections at bay. :)

A thread. 🧵😃
We are looking at three ceramic jugs. Two of which have bearded faces on the necks and look very cheery indeed.

What a woman, and she was still working. Was earlier reading the BBC Media news on the new upcoming David Attenborough London Wildlife series, for his centenary year, and yet again had the thought that this could be the last one from him. He'll be greatly missed too.

Apologies, very belated to this wonderful news, what splendid home nurturing and veterinary care. Plus if that final all clear happens round about the 5th we can celebrate on here with emoji fireworks for Ozzy. :)

Love it when giving of names in that way holds the memory of another beloved. My lad inherited a maternal family middle name, been in use for many generations for 1st born male. Luckily it's not a common one & fitted with the initials of his 1st name & surname to make a very satisfying monogram. :)
