The only semi-legal thing I've heard this stuff used as payment for is gambling. Convenient for that because minors can gamble.
Nobody thinks there needs to be innovation in paying for legal goods and services.
Instead of protecting Canadians from scams, Mark Carney’s Liberals are planning to develop a framework for stablecoins after crypto billionaires spent big to buy one in the United States.

The government claims it will “benefit men and youth by improving prosperity and good governance.” 🫠
Budget promises to introduce framework for Canadian dollar-backed cryptocurrency | CBC News
The Liberal government is committing to roll out new legislation to ensure some digital currencies are secure and stable enough for consumers and businesses to use.

so cool that mark carney is gutting climate policy to make a very expensive bet that asia will buy a ton of additional oil and gas from canada over the next few decades
"Far from a peak, China's gasoline demand is estimated to have fallen 9% in October on the year to 12.5 million tons, with average daily use roughly flat with September..."

China's oil demand is entering structural decline.
EVs put an end to China's usual holiday surge in gasoline use
Tianyu Jiang took a 2,000-km (1,200-mile) road trip this month during China's national holiday week, driving in his electric vehicle from the southwestern Sichuan basin to Beijing for the first time.

It should be noted it's yet to be shown that AI accomplishes this at all. And does that mean that Canadian legal data will be uploaded to American AI services?

mark carney taking the time to shit on canada post during his big pre-budget speech was disgusting.

he acts like it’s the responsible choice to gut an essential institution at the very moment he can’t stop talking about nation-building projects. that’s what canada post is and could continue to be!

It's probably a bad political move to use AI to make ads that actors and crew would refuse to participate in.
Andrew Cuomo’s campaign just posted — and quickly deleted — this AI-generated ad depicting “criminals for Zohran Mamdani.”

Features a Black man in a keffiyeh shoplifting, an abuser, a trespasser, a trafficker, a drug dealer, and a drunk driver all declaring support for Mamdani.

It will be fine for urban customers because surely private couriers will maintain quality and costs will be reduced with all the new customers. They really mean what they say in their marketing. Surely the loss of the standard bearer for the service won't tempt them to increase their margins.
So the management of Canada Post are simultaneously claiming that they need to shrink the service because its losing money, while promising to keep the aspect of it that guarantees to be the biggest money loser going forward.
Either it's a necessary service or it isn't, make up your fucking minds.

If property owners are mad about this maybe it's not really worth paying that much attention when people complain about the idea of housing people in need in their neighborhoods.
You live in a city with people. Move to the country if you don't want to be a part of that.

Yes, because the least reputable man to perhaps ever live says so.
Chrystia Freeland pens a delusional op-ed for FT, salivating over the prospects of endless war waged via Silicon Valley startups: "[…] low-cost drones, often guided by AI, are now responsible for more casualties than artillery — and inventing, flying and buying them is highly decentralised."
