Text: It’s exactly because Machu sees Nyaan as her equal that the moment she notices the bruise on Nyaan’s face left by the military police, she feels so angry inside. She’s thinking, “Why is the police beating up a girl about the same age as me!?”. And then, she gets even angrier at Nyaan’s attitude of it being only natural that they’re being violent against someone like her. Machu’s inner anger reached its limit when the military police Mobile Suits started to arbitrarily destroy the buildings in the refugee settlements, with the excuse that “they’re illegal anyways”. It’s at that point that she decides to sneak in the Mobile Suit —it was a manifestation of all the anger she was bottling up deep inside herself. Actually, it’s very similar to the anger Amuro felt in the first episode of “Mobile Suit Gundam” [機動戦士ガンダム, 1979], when he saw Fraw Bow’s family getting bombed. That’s why I believe I was able to get Machu to step into the Mobile Suit in the proper, traditional way of a Gundam protagonist. — So, she might not be hot-tempered, but in terms of sense of justice… She has one. Perhaps, that sensation is something very closely linked to the abilities of Newtypes.

In fact, the Republicans who claim to be motivated by a desire to restore the greatness of the American worker by imposing tariffs are the very same people who are working diligently to destroy labor unions here in America, because they would… raise the wages of workers. They are the same people who are opposed to increasing the minimum wage here in America. (Did you know that Democrats introduced a bill to raise the federal minimum wage yesterday? Oddly, the Make America Great Again contingent has not rushed to support this bill, in the midst of their big push to help American workers). All of the hand-waving around tariffs and their desire to reverse the damages of the NAFTA era obscures the fact that the same people consistently go out of their way to crush the power and income and working standards of American workers here, in America, the place where they directly control the policies! Republicans tell us, “We will bring back the factory jobs to America!” Motherfucker, we don’t need factory jobs—we need good jobs. The things that made the factory jobs good two generations ago were unions—the things that Trump and his allies are busily trying to wipe off the face of the earth, right now.

Maybe I’ll talk about books on here? Finished Stella Maris & The Passenger. The thing that sticks with me is the way McCarthy’s broadheartedness pairs with what is basically cosmic horror.
