This is part of why I hate everything being called AI. We used computer vision based systems/models to identify fish during open cod end rows. The IUC systems are good, but not as skilled as human analysts (who can be trained to a “good” level in under a month.) but IUC is MUCH faster once trained.

One of the things I miss terribly about living in Germany is downtown “walkplatz” areas - Trier, Kaiserslautern, Heidelberg, Munich, Rotterdam all had beautiful areas downtown with no motor traffic, well served on edges by public transport. Markets year round. Always well used!

I quote “quick run” because it’s 100 miles (well 98) from here to Litchfield and about ⅓ on “backroads” so arriving by 5pm was a 2hr 20minute drive. 1hr 50m home. For Johann coming from Norwalk even worse as the NY - Hartford corridor was jammed 62m drive took just under 2hrs

It’s what I do… scientific illustrations, graphic abstracts, outreach graphics, and documentary (tik-tok to full length) video for other scientists, environmental groups and similar NGOs. As a PhD oceanographer can read most papers and see what could help, or can work from a thumbnail.
